The official trailer of the much-awaited Nepali film ‘Riyal Ringet’, set to release on Shrawan 16, has been released on the occasion of Shrawan Sankranti. The trailer offers a moving glimpse into the painful realities faced by Nepali youth in foreign employment.
Some of the scenes in the trailer are emotionally intense, depicting Nepali workers being captured by terrorists. One striking moment shows actor Pramod Chaulagain sending a video message from captivity that gets broadcast on Nepali television.
Director Vibhor Pokharel stated that ‘Riyal Ringet’ is the story of every Nepali, emphasizing that the film closely portrays the real-life struggles and lifestyle of migrant workers.
The film’s title itself is symbolic: ‘Riyal’ refers to the currency of Qatar and Saudi Arabia, while ‘Ringet’ refers to Malaysia’s currency, representing the top destinations for Nepali migrant workers.
The cast includes Pramod Chaulagain, Nita Dhungana, Chhulthim Dolma Gurung, Rabindra Khadka, Dhruba Koirala, Prem Subba, Ramchandra Adhikari, Riyar Rai, Roshan Shrestha, Ishwari Baral, and Bimala Giri.
Written by Pradeep Bhardwaj, the film features action direction by Roshan Shrestha, cinematography by Hari Ghale, editing by Bipin Mall, background score by Kiran Tuladhar, and choreography by Rajiv Samar.
The soundtrack includes music by Ramchandra Kafle, Kiran Tuladhar, and Chandan Dhwaj KC, with vocals by Sugam Pokharel, Ketan Kshetri, Ramchandra Kafle, and Junu Rijal Kafle. Lyrics are penned by Amar Neupane, Ravi Mall, Kosis Kshetri, Pradeep Bhardwaj, and Chandan Dhwaj KC.
Filming took place in Rajasthan (India) and various locations across Chitwan, Kathmandu, and Letang (Nepal). Kafiya Films will handle the distribution of the movie.
