The teaser of the upcoming Nepali film ‘Reemai’, directed by Khil Bahadur Gurung, was officially released on Tuesday. Alongside the teaser, the production team also announced that the film’s release date has been moved forward by a week — from Bhadra 27 to Bhadra 20 (early September).
The nearly two-minute teaser hints at a mysterious, emotional, and thrilling narrative. It portrays themes of rural life, culture, love, pain, and revenge. With Dayahang Rai in a serious role, Rishma Gurung’s heartfelt presence, Arpan Thapa’s mysterious character, and Buddhi Tamang’s intense performance, the teaser has successfully captured viewers’ attention.
The film appears to highlight the realities of society through the lens of Gurung culture. The suspenseful ending of the teaser suggests that conflict and tension will play a significant part in the storyline. The production team believes that the teaser has generated excitement and anticipation among audiences.
‘Reemai’ is presented by Gorkha Siranchok and Ligligkot Films Pvt. Ltd. in collaboration with Roteping Entertainment. The cast includes Gaumaya Gurung, Kabita Ale Magar, Mao Tse Gurung, Pushkar Gurung, Veer Maya Gurung, Veerbal Ghale, D.B. Gurung, Tek Gurung, and child actors Asim Subba, Prestu Gurung, and Prashna Rana Magar.
The film is written by Upendra Subba and cinematographed by Shailendra Dhoj Karki. Veerbal Ghale serves as the executive producer, while Tika Gurung, Jeet Yatri Gurung, and Duna Bahadur Ghale are the producers. Binu Gurung, Roshan Bhattarai, and Rajesh Ghimire are co-producers.
The music is composed by Deepak Sharma and Thaneshwar Gautam. The film is edited by Mitra D. Gurung, with Kiran Chamling Rai as the chief assistant director and Bishnu Mainali as the production manager.
