Actor Anoopp Bikram Shahi has been signed for the upcoming romantic film ‘Sumnima’, to be directed by Milan Chams.
This marks the fourth collaboration between Shahi and Chams, following their previous work in ‘Hasiya’, ‘Bir Bikram’, and ‘Lily Bily’. The duo is reuniting after a gap of seven years, since their last project together.
According to Shahi, ‘Sumnima’ will feature him in a completely new and challenging role, unlike any character he has portrayed in his career so far. He is currently preparing intensively for the part.
Produced jointly by Gorkha Films and Chams Entertainment, the film’s title may sound female-centric, but director Chams clarified that ‘Sumnima’ is a pure love story at heart.
Upasana Singh Thakuri and Kunsang Bomjan have already been confirmed as the lead actress and actor, respectively. The casting for other roles and the technical crew is currently underway.
Written by Rajiv Thapa, the film is scheduled to begin shooting in August, with locations set in London and Nepal.
Director Chams’ previous biopic film ‘Anjila’ was a blockbuster hit, setting a record as the highest-grossing Nepali biopic to date.
Chams shared that ‘Sumnima’ will also be targeted toward the international market, aiming for wider reach and recognition.
