Some important scenes of the Nepali science-fiction film ‘Eklo’ have been filmed on a grand setup built in Panauti Municipality of Kavrepalanchok. According to director Pradeep Shahi, special preparations were made to shoot a three-minute long one-shot scene featuring actors Vijay Lama and Diya Pun.

The scene shows an accident occurring in front of pilot Vijay Lama, where a crowd gathers due to the presence of zombies. This scene represents a crucial turning point in the film’s storyline.

During filming, the actors had to run repeatedly to the crash site between a car and a bicycle, reenacting the moment multiple times. With each failed attempt, the director had to call “cut,” and the whole sequence had to be restarted. According to Shahi, it took almost six hours to successfully shoot the two-minute-long one-take scene.

According to executive producer Vinod Subedi ‘Kshitij’, such a scene requires a high level of planning and patience. “Even a minor error meant restarting the entire process, so it took a lot of time,” he stated.

‘Eklo’ is a rare science-fiction film in the Nepali movie industry, starring actor Pradeep Khadka in the lead role. The film is currently in post-production in London and is scheduled to release around Christmas in the Nepali month of Poush.

The film’s teaser has already been released, featuring looks of Pradeep Khadka, Vijay Lama, Diya Pun, Kabita Nepali, Jamie Bacon, and Benisha Hamal, among others. The film previously participated in the market section of the Cannes Film Festival, drawing international attention.

The film is directed by Pradeep Shahi, who has directed two films prior to this. Having lived in the United Kingdom for many years, Shahi is producing ‘Eklo’ with the aim of delivering a Hollywood-standard production.
