The first look of the upcoming Nepali psychological thriller film ‘The Blue Light’ has been officially released. Timed with lead actress Benisha Hamal’s birthday, the poster and teaser were unveiled by the production team, offering a chilling glimpse into the film’s dark tone.
Scheduled to release on November 28 (Mangsir 12), the teaser features characters under intense psychological stress. It opens with a young girl telling her father about a dream where he dies. The father comforts her, saying that dreaming of someone’s death means they will live a long life.
What follows is a series of tense, symbolic visuals—a girl struggling with inner weakness, holding a weapon to overcome fear, and another woman overhearing mysterious whispers. One particularly striking image shows actress Shristi Shrestha holding a bloody axe, suggesting a recent act of violence.
The first-look poster features Benisha Hamal, Arpan Thapa, and Shristi Shrestha against a blue-toned background, all in emotionally distressed expressions, reinforcing the film’s psychological genre.
‘The Blue Light’ marks the directorial debut of Baliram Chauhan (Gatsby), who was previously known as the writer and chief assistant director of the acclaimed film Balidan.
Produced under the Skyfall Pictures banner, the film stars Benisha Hamal, Arpan Thapa, Mahesh Tripathi, Aayushman DS Joshi, Shristi Shrestha, and Surakshya Poudel (Itani) in lead roles. Child actors Grisma Katuwal and Sahara Sharma also feature in the cast.
The film’s producers include Baliram Chauhan, with Bholanath Katuwal and Raman Gray as co-producers. The executive producers are cinematographer Narendra Mainali and actress Benisha Hamal, with cinematography also handled by Mainali.
Director Chauhan has stated that more details about the story and characters will be revealed gradually in the lead-up to the film’s release.
