Nepali Film ‘Janakranti’ to Be Produced

 A Nepali feature film titled Janakranti, based on the events surrounding the people’s movement for the establishment of republicanism, is set to be produced.

On Saturday, the first poster of the film was unveiled by Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, the first Prime Minister of Republican Nepal.

Speaking after the release, Prachanda expressed his belief that the film would help inform and inspire the younger generation about the struggles behind the republican movement and the socio-political and economic conditions following its establishment.
He emphasized the need for today’s youth to understand the state of society in the past.

Produced under the banner of Rudraksh Films Pvt. Ltd., the film will be directed by Upendra Timilsina. The production team has announced that filming will begin from the second week of Bhadra.

According to producer Rudra Prasad Khanal, the film is scheduled for release on Falgun 1.

Director Timilsina said that the film will cover stories based on various movements that contributed to the establishment of the republic.
Being based on true events, the film is expected to be helpful for younger audiences to better understand Nepal’s political history.

The film will be shot in multiple locations across western Nepal, including Rukum, Rolpa, Jajarkot, Jumla, Kalikot, Banke, Bardiya, and in eastern Nepal, including Dhankuta, Khotang, Bhojpur, as well as the Tarai-Madhesh region of Sarlahi.
