The film PR, produced under the banner of Salon Salina Films, is set to have its red carpet premieres. According to the production team, the premieres will be held on August 9 and 12 in two Australian cities.
The first premiere will take place on August 9 at two halls of Event Cinemas in Hurstville, Sydney, while the second will be on August 12 at two halls of Reading Cinemas in Newcastle, as per the producers.
In Australia, the film is being presented by RFM Facility Management’s Ranjit Shah and Career Gateway Australia’s Santosh Tiwari. Directed by Shovit Basnet, the film features performances by R.A. Suraj Poudel, Rajan Kunwar, Binita Karki, Pooja Chaudhary, Bimala Khatri, Asma Adhikari, Ganesh Budhathoki, Krishna Thapa, Max, Mastani, and Naveen Ghayal.
Special appearances in the film include veteran actors Neer Shah, Gauri Malla, Rabindra Khadka, Dikpal Karki, and Uttam KC.
The film is produced by Pradeep Dahal of A-One Group Services and Laxman Sapkota of Indreni Group. The story is by director Basnet himself, while the screenplay and dialogues are written by Ganesh Budhathoki.
Cinematography was handled by Saurav Sayami (Australia) and Saurav Lama (Nepal), with editing by Bande Prasad. The choreography is by Ramji Lamichhane, with music by Manas Raj and Bheem BC.
Production management was overseen by Kewalman Singh Basnet, with Ramji Raut, Ganesh Budhathoki, and Mani Tamang serving as chief assistant directors. According to director Basnet, 60% of the film was shot in various cities across Australia, while the remaining 40% was filmed in Nepal.
The film primarily explores the struggles of Nepali students living abroad and the emotional pain of the families they leave behind in Nepal.
According to the production team, PR is a must-watch for the Nepali diaspora. The story captures the economic and emotional exchanges between children living overseas and their parents back home.
Speaking about the storyline, director Basnet said, “There is currently high demand for PR in various Australian cities. We are now preparing for a global release.” He also mentioned that discussions are ongoing with distributors for the film’s wider release.
