he team behind the popular Nepali TV comedy show Comedy Darbar has announced its debut in film production with a movie titled Ka Ka Ki Ki. The film’s theme poster was released on Monday, officially marking the announcement.
According to the poster, the film will feature renowned Nepali actors Gauri Malla, Tripti Nadkar, Rekha Thapa, and Mahesh Tripathi in lead roles. Additionally, popular TikTok personalities Miss Pabi, Pawan Khatiwada, Himesh Pant, Sujata Shrestha, Bishwas Timilsina, and CD Vijay Adhikari will appear in special roles.
Given the expressions in the poster, the title, and the background of the team, the film is expected to be a full-fledged comedy.
Ka Ka Ki Ki will be co-directed by Vicky Agrawal and Shraddha Prasai. The film is presented by producers Shraddha Prasai and Sumitra Thapa. The screenplay is written by Vicky Agrawal, while the story also credits Bikas Aryal and Saroj Bhandari. Sudip Baral will serve as the director of photography (DOP), and the theme poster was designed by Royal Bhimsen.
The film will be distributed in Nepal by Shree Venkatesh, internationally by Seven Seas, and the digital rights will be handled by OSR Digital.
Currently directing Comedy Darbar, this marks Vicky Agrawal’s first cinematic venture. According to him, shooting will commence the day after Dashain Tika. The film’s budget and release date have not been disclosed yet.
Following the announcement, director Agrawal stated, “Starting my film career by collaborating with industry veterans is a great opportunity. We believe Ka Ka Ki Ki will also receive the same love and support from audiences. Our team’s mission is now to bring laughter not just on television, but also in theaters.”
