The production team of the film ‘Buki’, directed by Mohan KC, has unveiled the first look poster of the movie on Saturday. Presented by Himalayan Musical Event Management and Films, the poster gives the audience a first glimpse of the film.
The poster features a blooming Buki flower, which stands out prominently. In the background, fog is seen approaching a meadow in the mountainous region of Lekali. On the meadow, seven women and one man are playing volleyball. The presence of a net and volleyball court suggests that they might be preparing for a women’s tournament, although the production team has not clarified this aspect.
The Buki flower blooms during the rainy season in the mountainous region of Patan. Locals refer to the area as ‘Buki,’ and thus the flower that blooms there is called the Buki flower. The film is said to explore the relationship between sports and nature.
The film’s executive producers are Prakash Ale and Rajan KC, while the producers include Laxman Sapkota, Amisha Kaucha Thapa, and Ramesh Thapa. The creative producers are Rajesh Thapa and Basundhara Kharel, with co-producers Jitu Thapa and Sunil Budhathoki.
The cast features Suraksha Pant, Debendra Bablu, Roshani Karki, Prakash Ghimire, Laxminath Timalsina, Ganu Joshi, Anu Dahal, Sandip Babu Lohani, and Nisha Bajgain, among others.
The film’s associate director is Ashuka Aryal, and the chief assistant director is Acharya Gopal. Cinematography is by Vikas Gandarbha, and editing is handled by Bhupendra Adhikari.
Assistant directors include Tigris, Nisha Dahal, Ujwal Adhikari, and Color Manoranjan Shrestha. Location sound engineers are Bisan Basnet, Simant Thapa, Diamond Acharya, and Nirjal Khatri, with Tarjan Limbu operating the drone camera. Music is composed by Deepak Sharma and HBN Kismat. Publicity design is by Rakesh Dahal, makeup artistry by Shyam Mall, and production head is Thamman Thapa.
The film was shot in various locations including Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Dhorpatan in Baglung. Although the release date has not been finalized, the production team plans to release the film within 2026.
