On the occasion of Phulpati this Dashain, the much-anticipated Nepali film ‘Balidan’ has intensified its promotional campaign by unveiling the character posters of four key cast members.
The posters, released on Wednesday, present for the first time the characters portrayed by Arpan Thapa, Richa Sharma, Hemanta Budhathoki, and director-actor Santosh Sen.
According to director Sen, these characters were introduced ahead of the teaser release because of the deep impact they leave within the story. He stated, “These are not just posters; these characters represent the unheard voices from the corners of our society.”
Hemanta Budhathoki, a seasoned actor known for his villainous roles in hundreds of films, appears in a powerful antagonist role. Sen remarked, “His presence doesn’t just shake the screen—it shakes the very spine of the story.”
Arpan Thapa portrays a character filled with pain, rebellion, and truth, with “eyes that speak volumes,” as described by the director.
Richa Sharma plays a character representing the voice of society in a unique way, unveiling “the real essence of life in every dialogue.”
Director Santosh Sen himself plays a compelling role in the film, which, according to him, “isn’t limited to the story—it defines the society itself.”
Earlier, character posters of lead actor Sameer Bhatt and actress Kavita Rai had already been released. Likewise, a mysterious poster of Saugat Malla and a pre-teaser unveiled on Sameer’s birthday garnered significant attention.
Taking the promotional campaign a step further, the production team has launched a nationwide ‘Balidan Banner’ campaign, placing large banners across the country.
Presented by Asusen Films Pvt. Ltd., ‘Balidan’ is produced by Pawan Bradford Bista, with Prem Puri as executive producer. Director Sen noted that the film aims to carve a unique identity for Nepali cinema even amidst the competition with international films—through its distinct storytelling, strong presentation, and emotional depth.
