The official trailer of the film Magne Raja, directed by Rishi Lamichhane, has been released. A 3-minute and 40-second trailer was launched during a special event held in the capital on Thursday. The trailer places lead actor Kedar Ghimire, popularly known as Magne Buda, at the center of its narrative.

The footage offers insight into the film’s storyline and character dynamics. Alongside Ghimire, the trailer features actors Barsha Siwakoti, Wilson Bikram Rai, Shishir Bangdel, and Sharda Giri. Miss Pabi, TV host, singer, and former National Assembly member Komal Oli, is seen portraying the role of a judge.

The story revolves around a simple village youth who dreams of becoming wealthy, as depicted in the trailer. Kedar Ghimire is presented in multiple avatars, marking his debut in a leading role—after having appeared only in supporting roles in the past.

Scheduled to release on Bhadra 6 (August 22), the film takes a satirical jab at the country’s socio-economic and political realities. The trailer suggests that the film carries a strong message about the futility of seeking easy wealth without hard work, and it appears to have piqued audience curiosity.

Produced under the banner of Aarambha Production, Magne Raja is presented and produced by Munal Ghimire. Returning to filmmaking after a long gap following his film Iccha, Ghimire is also currently serving as the ward chairperson of Ward No. 4, Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City, Dang.

Shot by cinematographer Narendra Mainali, the film also features actor Aryan Sigdel in a special role. Magne Raja is distributed by RR Films, with story, screenplay, and dialogues penned by Samipya Raj Timalsena, and music composed by Deepak Sharma and Babul Giri.
