‘Rimai’ Team Actively Promotes Film Through Participation in World Indigenous Day Rally

The team behind Rimai, set to release on Bhadra 20, has intensified promotional activities ahead of its premiere. Last Saturday, the film’s cast and crew actively participated in rallies held across Kathmandu to mark the 31st World Indigenous Day.

The event, organized to preserve the identity, culture, and rights of indigenous communities, saw the participation of various organizations, artists, cultural groups, and members of the public. Dressed in colorful traditional attire and presenting cultural displays, the Rimai team made their presence stand out during the rally.

Actors, producers, the director, and other team members joined the event carrying banners, placards, and posters featuring the film’s title, dancing and singing to traditional tunes alongside indigenous rights activists to draw attention to the movie.

Director Khil Bahadur Gurung said that World Indigenous Day is not only a celebration but also a symbol of the ongoing struggle for rights, equality, and cultural respect. He expressed his commitment to bringing the real stories, culture, and challenges of the indigenous community to audiences through Rimai.

According to the team, their participation in the event conveyed a message that artists and filmmakers are aware of and committed to social and cultural issues. Attendees and supporters praised Rimai’s culturally representative presence and expressed eagerness to watch the film.

Produced by Gorkha Siranchok & Ligligkot Films Pvt. Ltd. in collaboration with Roteping Entertainment, Rimai stars Gaumaya Gurung, Kavita Ale Magar, Mao Tse Gurung, Pushkar Gurung, Veermaya Gurung, Veerbal Ghale, DB Gurung, Tek Gurung, along with child actors Asim Subba, Prestu Gurung, and Prashna Rana Magar.

Written by Upendra Subba, the film’s cinematography is by Shailendra Dhoj Karki. Veerbal Ghale serves as the executive producer, while Tika Gurung, Jit Yatri Gurung, and Dun Bahadur Ghale are producers, with Binu Gurung, Roshan Bhattarai, and Rajesh Ghimire as co-producers.

The film features music by Deepak Sharma and Thaneshwar Gautam, with Kiran Chamling Rai as chief assistant director, Bishnu Mainali as production manager, and editing by Mitra D. Gurung.
