The Nepali film “Janai Harayeko Manche : Sambandhaka Dhagaharu” is set to hit theaters on August 22. Featuring a strong lineup, the film stars Bijay Baral in the lead role.

Baral is the same actor who headlined the blockbuster “Purna Bahadurko Sarangi”, portraying the character Purna Bahadur Gandharva—a performance that earned widespread critical acclaim.

“Purna Bahadurko Sarangi” remains the highest-grossing film in Nepal’s history, earning nearly one billion rupees from domestic and international markets combined. Following that historic success, Baral’s latest film “Janai Harayeko Manche” will release on August 22.

This is Baral’s first lead role since “Purna Bahadurko Sarangi”, sparking curiosity among audiences as to whether it will replicate the previous film’s massive success.

Director Himal Neupane says the film tells an emotional story about family relationships set in a rural backdrop, and he is confident audiences will embrace it. Baral also believes the film’s rural setting, themes of poverty, and strong emotional core—similar to his previous hit—will resonate with viewers.

The film, directed by Neupane, features “Prem Geet 3” actor Manish Raut as associate director. Raut, who previously played a lead role in “Prem Geet 3”, is now making his move into filmmaking.

Alongside Baral, the cast includes Miruna Magar, Keki Adhikari, Sushank Mainali, Gaurav Pahari, Bhola Raj Sapkota, Riar Rai, Tara Sharma, Bhawana Khapangi Magar, Rupesh Lama, and Suman Thapa, among others.

Produced under the Paperclip banner by Kamal Nyaupane and Bimal Nyaupane, the executive producers are Narayan Timilsina, Chudamani Shiwakoti, R.K. Manandhar, C.R. Basnet, Philip Disi, and James Maharajan.

The soundtrack features music by Thaneshwar Gautam, Arjun Pokharel, S.D. Yogi, and Prashant Shiwakoti. Nabin Gurung serves as DOP, with Krishna Pariyar as cinematographer. The story, screenplay, and dialogues are written by Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal.

Chief assistant director Dinesh Bahadur Raut is joined by Tarkaraj Neupane, Rabindra Nepal, Monika Thapa, and Akash K.C. as assistant directors. Laxman Raj Poudel is the production controller.

Distribution is handled by Gobinda Shahi’s Kafiya Films.

This marks Baral’s first film of the year in a leading role since the all-time blockbuster “Purna Bahadurko Sarangi”.
