Actress Niruta Singh has arrived in Nepal to star in the upcoming film “36 Ko Aankada,” directed by Sabir Shrestha. Returning from Mumbai on Sunday night, Singh expressed her excitement while speaking to the press.
Singh said, “Now I am not going anywhere. I will continue working in Nepali films. I had contracted Covid-19 in between, so I couldn’t work in films. But now, I am not leaving again.”
She made it clear that she cannot stay away from Nepali cinema. Although she had received some film offers in the meantime, various circumstances prevented her from taking them up.
Her role in “36 Ko Aankada” has not been revealed yet. Director Sabir Shrestha also stated that it was too early to disclose details about her character. Explaining why he chose Singh for the project, he said: “As an assistant director, I had worked with Niruta didi in some films, but I hadn’t gotten the chance to work with her after becoming a director. Sometimes certain roles demand a very specific actor. This film required Niruta didi, which is why we approached her.”
The film also stars Rekha Thapa, Pooja Sharma, Mahesh Tripathi, Pushpa Khadka, among others. Actresses Rekha Thapa and Niruta Singh will be sharing the screen together for the first time since the film “Dui Pal.”
Singh has not acted in any new films since “Dal Bhat Tarkari.” Now, she is preparing to begin shooting for “36 Ko Aankada” starting today.
