A formal workshop has begun on Sunday for the upcoming film adaptation of the famous short story “Paral Ko Aago” by renowned Nepali storyteller Guruprasad Mainali. To ensure the film’s quality, the producers have gathered all the cast members together to participate in the workshop.

The workshop features lead actors Saugat Malla, Prakash Saput, Suhana Thapa, Sirjana Adhikari, Shankar Acharya, Kishor Bhandari, Kuldeep Adhikari, Saru Bhandari, and Renu Nyaupane among others, who are rehearsing to bring their characters to life.

The producers Sushil Pokharel and writer Sushil Devkota are also present at the workshop. Producer Pokharel stated that he is personally committed to ensuring the film’s excellence. The film is being directed by Laxman Sunar.

The soundtrack will feature lyrics by Surendra Rana, Man Bahadur Mukhia, and Prakash Saput, with music composed by Shanti Thatal, Satya Swaroop, and Prakash Saput. According to the producers, veteran composer Shanti Thatal had granted permission for the use of her compositions two months ago at her residence.

Filming for “Paral Ko Aago” will begin on Bhadra 26 (early September) in the scenic locations of Myagdi. Cinematography will be handled by Sankalpa Bhujel. The technical team includes Ramji Lamichhane (choreography), Sulakshan Bharti (script doctoring), Sushil Devkota (writing), and Nagendra Ghimire (production manager).

It should be noted that the same story, included in Mainali’s anthology “Naaso,” was previously adapted into a film by director Pratap Subba around 45 years ago, which became a commercial success. However, the release date of this new version has not yet been announced by the producers.
