The auspicious beginning of the film Gobar Ganesh was marked today with a traditional ceremony at the Mhepi Temple premises in Kathmandu.
The muhurat was attended by most of the cast members, including director Marichman Shrestha (also known as Balchi Dhurbe). The ceremony included a camera pooja, followed by the traditional coconut breaking, which was done by Kedar Ghimire ‘Magne Buda’. Actor Ravi Giri also took part by clapping during the ceremony.
The film’s shooting has also officially begun today. The shooting, which started in Kathmandu, will continue in various locations, including Pokhara.
Director Shrestha informed that the shooting schedule is set for approximately 35 days.
“Today, we have started shooting the film. We will strive to deliver the best work within our capabilities,” said Director Shrestha. “Just as we received support and love from the viewers on the small screen, we trust that the audience of the big screen will also shower us with the same love and support.”
Gobor Ganesh, directed by Marichman Shrestha, is set to release on the 1st of Magh. This is his debut feature film as a director. Marichman, who became popular with Meri Bassai, later ventured into directing television serials, including the well-loved Halka Ramailo and Juthe.
The film is being produced under the banner of Balchi Dhurbe Films, and actress Barsha Sivakoti plays the female lead. Other cast members include Marichman Shrestha, Binod Nyaupane, Padam Tamang, Wilson Bikram Rai, Nirmal Sharma, Lakshminath Timalsena, Raju Yakcha, Ramprasad Khanal, Santosh Baniya, Sandip Lama, Mao Tse Gurung, Sitadevi Timalsina, and Pujan Ghimire (Puku).
Taranath Nyaupane is the Chief Assistant Director, and the film features BGM by Yogesh Kaji Shah, production by Shankar Pandey, cinematography by Shivram Shrestha, and editing by Bipin Mall.
The publicity design is handled by Towa Studio, and the digital partner for the film is OSR Digital. The distribution in Nepal will be managed by Shri Backstage Entertainment.
