The shooting of the Nepali sci-fi film Eklo has been completed.
According to director Pradeep Shahi, the final song was recently filmed, marking the completion of the entire shoot. The song, featuring lead actress Kavita Nepali, was shot on a grand set in Kathmandu. Sung by Swapnil Sharma and composed by Rohit Shakya, the video was choreographed by Kavita Nepali herself. According to executive producer Vinod Subedi ‘Kshitiz,’ the song will be released during Dashain.
Eklo is a rare science-fiction project in the Nepali film industry, starring actor Pradeep Khadka in the lead role. The film’s post-production is underway in London, and it is scheduled for release in Poush, coinciding with Christmas.
The teaser, released earlier, featured Pradeep Khadka alongside Vijay Lama, Diya Pun, Kavita Nepali, Jamie Bacon, Benisha Hamal, among others. Eklo had also marked its presence at the Cannes Film Festival’s market section, garnering international attention.
Director Shahi, who has previously directed two films, has been residing in the UK for many years. He aims to present Eklo with Hollywood-level technology and cinematic standards.
The main cast includes Pradeep Khadka, Vijay Lama, Sunil Thapa, Diya Pun, Benisha Hamal, Dinesh DC, Kavita Nepali, Suraj Singh Thakuri, Awan Raj Upreti, Trichu Rai, Krishnabhakta Maharjan, Bikash Adhikari, Diggaj Khatri, Vinod Subedi ‘Kshitiz,’ Arushjung Saru Magar, Shri Shesh Shrestha, child artists Jemin Shrestha and Syon Savik Singh, along with British actor Jamie Bacon.
The producers are Raj Kumar Gurung, Hari Shrestha, Bishnu Tamang, Utsav Bista, Bhairaja Thapa, Navin Siva, Bagbir Pun, Bhuvan Adhikari, Sangita Wadi Shrestha, Ritesh Rana, Sushil Prajapati, and Shashikala Gurung, with Vinod Subedi ‘Kshitiz’ serving as executive producer.
On the technical side, cinematography is handled by Babu Shrestha, stunt direction by Raju Tamang, set design by Raju Painter, art direction by Santosh Lama, and production design by Dronaprasad Paudel ‘Theuke.’
