Directors Sajan Kafle and Aakas Baral, known for Beheuli from Meghauli, have announced their new film Zero Degree. The project was officially unveiled on Monday with the release of a minimalist poster under the banner of Meghauli Films.

The story has been written by Rajan Bhusal, while the screenplay and dialogues were developed by the directors themselves. Zero Degree revolves around a unique premise: in a remote village without road access, when parents pass away, their children living abroad struggle to arrive in time. To preserve the bodies until their arrival, locals carry a deep freezer into the village, triggering a series of dramatic and comedic events. According to the filmmakers, the narrative combines social commentary with light comedy.

Acclaimed actor Bijay Baral will play the lead role in the film.

The poster, designed by Royal Bhimsen of Trident Concept, features a striking image of a deep freezer being carried across a river by villagers—breaking away from the tradition of showcasing actor portraits or large-scale visuals, and instead highlighting a central element of the story.

Moti Karki has been announced as the film’s executive producer. Filming for Zero Degree is set to commence after Tihar, with a release planned for next year. Distribution will be handled by Kuber Cine Distribution. The soundtrack will feature music composed by Ankit Babu Adhikari, with lyrics penned by Yubaraj Kafle, the writer of the widely popular song Kafle from the film Woolen Sweater.
