The song “Basant Nai Basna Khojchha” from the upcoming Nepali film “Maitighar”, set to release on October 13, has officially been released.
Shot over 11 days with a budget of NPR 5 million, the music video features the film’s lead actresses Upasana Singh Thakuri and Shyamashree Sherpa.
The track is beautifully rendered by Indian singer Sanjivani, and visually the video looks grand and lavish. The choreography, crafted by Kabiraj Gahatraj, has been praised for its precision, particularly in the smart utilization of the chorus.
The lyrics, written by Kiran Kharel, are set to music by the late Indian composer Jaydev, while the original vocals were recorded by Asha Bhos. In this refreshed version, Sanjivani delivers the same melodic sweetness that has made the song timeless.
The film is produced under the banner of Rohit Adhikari Films. The production team has also announced a contest where one outstanding participant who creates a 40-second to 2-minute video using the song will win NPR 500,000.
Directed by Milan Tamang, Maitighar stars Kedar Prasad Ghimire, Prakash Saput, Dhiraj Magar, Upasana Singh Thakuri, Shyamashree Sherpa, Yuvraj Lama, Buddhi Tamang, Shishir Wandel, Rajni Gurung, Santosh Shahi, Phoolkumar Bamjam, and Sangeeta Thapa, among others.
The story is penned by Chandrakumar Dong, with screenplay and dialogues by Ramsharan Pathak. Cinematography is handled by Sushan Prajapati, while Surendra Poudel takes charge of editing. The film is financed by Rabin Sherchan and Dhiraj Tamang, with Ishwar Shrestha and Niraj Katwal serving as executive producers.
