The much-anticipated Nepali film “Balidan” is set to make history in the international market with its release this Dashain on Fulpati.
Directed by Santosh Sen and starring Sameer Bhatt, the film will, for the first time, be screened in AMC (America’s largest cinema chain). According to director Sen, “Balidan” is expected to be showcased in more than 200 theaters across the U.S., with over 1,000 shows scheduled.
Breaking the record as the first Nepali film to ever be screened in the AMC chain, Sen claims “Balidan” will elevate Nepali cinema to a new global height. In addition to AMC, the film will also be screened in other prestigious U.S. cinema chains, including Cinemark, Marcus, and Regal.
The posters and teasers released earlier have already sparked widespread excitement for the film. Alongside Sameer Bhatt, the movie also stars Saugat Malla, Arpan Thapa, Richa Sharma, Kavita Rai, Hemant Budhathoki, Prem Puri, and Santosh Sen. Presented by Ashusen Films, “Balidan” is produced by Pawan Bradford Bista, with Prem Puri serving as executive producer. The film is being hailed as a bold step forward for the Nepali film industry.
