Newar star singer Rozman Maharjan has lent his voice to a Nepali film song for the first time. The song “Dhanya Dhanya Lokeshwor” from the much-talked-about film Jharyepachhi Ko Indreni, directed by Arjun Ghimire, was recently recorded.
The track, beautifully rendered by Rozman Maharjan—renowned for Newar hits like “Aila Luwaya” and “Saalgu Gacha”—alongside singer Ratna Shova Maharjan, brings a refreshing flavor to Nepali devotional music.
The music arrangement has been done by Surendra Shrestha, with Rubin Shrestha on flute, Laxmi Dangol on khin/madal, Rajiv Shrestha on sitar, and guitar by Surendra Shrestha himself. Mixing and mastering were also handled by Surendra Shrestha, while the recording took place at Sur Melody Recording Studio.
According to director Arjun Ghimire, “Dhanya Dhanya Lokeshwor” preserves Nepal’s traditional instruments, spiritual sentiments, and cultural heritage, adding emotional depth to the film.
The movie also includes a special song by Balen, expected to energize younger audiences. Likewise, another track featuring the popular singer Samikshya Adhikari further strengthens the film’s musical side.
With its blend of social message, spiritual perspective, and musical richness, the film has already generated interest both domestically and internationally. The production team has confirmed that the Australian distribution rights of the movie have already been sold.
