The shooting of the film Kumari has officially begun. On Tuesday morning, the formal inauguration ceremony was held at the Banglamukhi Temple in Lalitpur, attended by the film’s lead actors, director, and production team.
Directed by Dinesh Raut, the filming of Kumari has commenced from the Patan area of Lalitpur. The entire shoot is scheduled to be completed within 35 days. Abhishek Khadka and Aakriti Rajbhandari play the lead roles, alongside Ghanshyam Joshi, Sunita Shrestha, Aakansha Karki, Madhu Khadka, Sanam Shrestha, Saku Shah, Saroj Lamichhane, Manisha Sharma, and Bhupi Luhar.
Produced by Mahendra Adhikari under Binish Entertainment in collaboration with Picture Frame, the film’s script is written by Bikash Subedi. Earlier, during the announcement and poster launch event, singer Kehar Singh Limbu and his band ‘Kehar and the Lunga’ performed the song Kata Chhau, which has already gained popularity. With this song, Limbu also makes his playback singing debut.
The film’s music is composed by Kehar Singh Limbu, Suman Tamang, and Prashant Siwakoti, with vocals by Limbu himself. Lyrics are penned by Sagar Lamichhane Magar, Suman Tamang, and Yuvaraj Kafle.
Director Raut, who previously directed successful romantic films such as I Am Sorry, November Rain, and Classic, later focused on social issues with films like Parva, Mahabhoj, Prasad, Prakash, and Pujar Sarki. With Kumari, he makes a return to the world of romance.
The film’s cinematography will be led by Susan Prajapati, with Kedar Bhusal as the executive producer, Ashika Sharma as the production designer, and Dinesh Bahadur Rawat as the chief assistant director. The on-screen poetry is written by Riya Adhikari. Poster and publicity design is handled by Royal Bhimsen (Trident Concept), with color grading by Suprim Parajuli, sound design by Uttam Nyaupane, and choreography by Kiran Thapa.
