Audience Shows Enthusiastic Participation in ‘Maitighar’ Dance Competition

The dance competition based on the title song of the film Maitighar, set to release on Ashoj 13 (Fulpati), has seen enthusiastic participation from audiences. Starting Monday, the winner of this competition will receive a cash prize of 500,000 rupees. The competition will continue until Ashoj 12, according to the production team.

Producer Rohit Adhikari said that within just 24 hours, audiences had submitted a large number of videos, leaving the team amazed. He added, “This overwhelming participation has greatly encouraged us. Within 24 hours, the song has already gained 1.5 to 2 million views across OSR Digital’s various social media platforms.”

According to him, this enthusiastic response has further energized the production team. Initially, only the first-place winner was promised a 500,000-rupee cash prize. However, now prizes will also be awarded to the second and third positions, while all participants will receive some form of reward.

The title song, sung by Sanjivani, has gained attention since its release. The competition requires participants to perform a dance between 40 seconds and 2 minutes, with one winner receiving the grand prize. In the official music video, Upasana Singh Thakuri and Shyamashree Sherpa perform the dance, choreographed by Kabiraj Gahatraj. Cinematography is by Man Krishna Maharjan and Sushan Prajapati, while the film is edited by Surendra Paudel.

Rohit Adhikari stated, “In some videos, the effort and dedication of the audience have truly surprised us. They have left no stone unturned to make their performances outstanding.”

The film features performances by Kedar Prasad Ghimire, Dhiraj Magar, Prakash Saput, Upasana Singh Thakuri, Shyamashree Sherpa, Yuvaraj Lama, Buddhi Tamang, Shishir Wangel, Rajani Gurung, Santosh Shahi, Phulkumar Bamjam, and Sangita Thapa, among others.

Based on a story by Chandrakumar Dong, the screenplay and dialogues are written by Ramsharan Pathak. The film is produced by Rabin Sherchan and Dhiraj Tamang, with Ishwar Shrestha and Niraj Katuwal serving as executive producers.
