The film Juba has officially been announced. Presented by Astra Films, the movie stars Saugat Malla in the lead role.
The story and direction are by Prakash Karn, while the screenplay and writing are by Barsha Poudel. Both Karn and Poudel also serve as creative producers.
Sophie Dharel will make her debut as the leading actress in the film. Along with Saugat and Sophie, Sudhan Pokharel will also appear in a lead role. This is his third film; he has already worked in two films that are yet to be released. However, this marks his first film in a main role.
Produced under Rock Caster Studio, the announcement was accompanied by the release of three character posters.
In one poster, Saugat Malla is seen standing in front of the camera with folded hands in a Namaste gesture. His look, get-up, and style hint at his role as an actor.
In another poster, he is shown inside a PCO, talking on a landline phone. The landline phone, along with his and Sophie’s get-up, indicates that the film is set around two decades ago. Sophie appears to be upset, while Saugat looks serious as he talks on the phone.
The third poster features Sudhan, portrayed as the antagonist. Smoking a cigarette, his look clearly suggests he is playing a dangerous villain.
The makers have not yet revealed details about the story, other cast members, or other aspects of the film.
