A new auditorium has been added to Kirtipur Cineplex, operated by Nepali film producer, distributor, and theater owner Narendra Maharjan. The inauguration of the auditorium, named ‘Aud–2’, was carried out on Thursday by Dinesh DC, Chairman of the Film Development Board.

According to Maharjan, the 101-seat auditorium is equipped with a Barco projector, Pulse 7.1 surround sound system, luxury seating, and 3D technology. Maharjan, who also serves as the President of the Film Association, had previously renovated the old ‘Kirtipur Hall’ into a modern cineplex.

He added that although there were plans to operate two screens from the beginning, only one was opened initially due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As audience demand increased, the second screen was added to prioritize enhanced facilities.

“We haven’t just added a screen; we’ve fully modernized the auditorium with state-of-the-art facilities,” Maharjan said. “Now, audiences can enjoy movies in a comfortable and modern environment.”
