The first song ‘Tyau Tyau’ from the Nepali film Dhago, featuring Sukruti Pant in the lead role, has been released. The film is set to premiere simultaneously in theaters across Nepal and India on Kartik 28 (November 14).
The song features vocals by popular singers Pushpan Pradhan and Akanksha Thapa, with lyrics and music also composed by Pushpan Pradhan. Presented in a lively and danceable style, the music video features actors Buddhi Tamang, Varsha Raut, Sukruti Pant, Prabhat Thapa, and Surabhi Thapa. The choreography is by renowned dance director Kabiraj Gahtaraj.
The production team expects audience interest in the film to rise further following the song release. Director Udip Rana Thapa stated that despite restrictions on social media platforms such as YouTube in Nepal, the song was released targeting both Nepal and India. A special premiere event was organized in Siliguri, West Bengal, India.
According to Thapa, the film centers on the lives, emotional bonds, and cultural threads of Nepali families living in the Nepal–India border region. The film stars Sukruti Pant, along with Prabhat Thapa from West Bengal, India, and Surabhi Thapa, winner of Miss Darjeeling and Miss North East India, in leading roles.
Additionally, actors Buddhi Tamang, Sunil Thapa, Rabin Sanskar, Deep Chhetri, Pragya Thapa, Babu Pradhan, Seven Bishwakarma, Rajiv Bhusal, Aisha Tamang, and Pappu Bishwakarma appear in supporting roles, with Varsha Raut in a cameo.
Cinematography is by Bollywood director Aniker M. Ghogha, editing by Akhilesh Rai, costume design by Binu Pradhan, VFX by Anurup Kertketta, color grading by Anindya S. Rai, sound design by Amit Trivedi, choreography by Kabiraj Gahtaraj and Basan Darji, consultant editor Kamlesh Parau, and background score by Nirmal Panya.
Dhago is produced by Film Magnet Entertainment India, with producers Uma Thapa, Uttam Thapa, and Udip Thapa, co-producers Prabhat Thapa, Samir Tamang, and Rajesh Kshetri, and supervising producers Vahid M. Munsuri and Uday Thapa. The film’s digital partner is OSR Digital, and RR Films will handle distribution in Nepal.
