The film Abhimanyu: Chapter 1 is set to release on Fulpati, Ashoj 13. Although it was initially scheduled to hit theaters on Bhadra 27, the release has now been postponed to Fulpati.
The release of this film was delayed due to the screening of Genji and was eventually pushed to Ashoj 13.
“Although we had originally fixed the date for Bhadra 27, considering the adverse situation in the country, we decided to postpone the release. However, looking at the recent positive changes in the nation, we have announced a new release date with the aim of keeping the Nepali film industry dynamic and vibrant,” Seven Seas Nepal, the production company, said in a press statement. “In Nepali language, the film will be released simultaneously across Nepal and worldwide from Ashoj 13 (Phulpati).”
In Hindi, however, the release will take place simultaneously in India and worldwide from Ashoj 17.
Producer Binod Paudel explained that since the film was already promoted as releasing on Bhadra 27 and a large budget had already been invested in publicity, it would not have been possible to keep audiences waiting for too long.
“We made the decision to release during Phulpati after much consideration. Our intention is not to compete or clash with anyone. Neither could we afford to postpone the release for too long,” said Paudel. “When we planned to release on Bhadra 27, we had a solo release opportunity. But circumstances brought us to Ashoj 13. We finalized this date after mutual discussions.”
He further clarified that since international shows had already been booked, they could not postpone the release much longer.
