
Due to the Gen-Z movement, the release of Jari–2, originally scheduled for September 19 (Asoj 3), had been postponed.
The film is now officially set to hit theaters on November 6 (Kartik 21). Earlier, the production team had announced November 21 (Kartik 6) as the tentative release date.
On Wednesday, the production team unveiled two new posters while confirming the new release date.
Written and directed by poet Upendra Subba, the film’s first poster features lead actors Dayahang Rai and Miruna Magar in traditional Limbu attire, portrayed in a joyful mood.
The second poster includes Buddhi Tamang and Vijay Baral alongside Rai and Magar. Both posters strongly suggest that the film explores the stories rooted in the Limbu community and its rich cultural heritage.
Produced under the banners of Bansuri Films and Kabaddi Films, Jari–2 is backed by acclaimed director Ram Babu Gurung, Madhu Mijar, and Jeevan Gurung.
The ensemble cast features Dayahang Rai, Miruna Magar, Vijay Baral, Buddhi Tamang, along with Richa Sharma, Pushkar Gurung, Prem Subba, Mao Tse Gurung, Manhang Lawati, Bishnu Moktan, Kamal Mani Nepal, Anil Subba, Rekha Limbu, Bedana Rai, and Sirjana Ninglékhu.
Sharing the poster release on Wednesday evening, producer Ram Babu Gurung stated that the new date was finalized after extensive consultations with all stakeholders.
Director Upendra Subba’s debut film Jari was one of the biggest blockbusters of 2023 (2080 BS), grossing over NPR 170 million at the Nepali box office. With such a successful legacy, Jari–2 has been listed among the most anticipated Nepali films since its announcement, and industry expectations remain high that it will continue its remarkable box-office history.
