The highly anticipated Nepali film Balidan unveiled its official trailer on Friday, further amplifying the buzz it had already generated through its posters, pre-teaser, teaser, and songs.
The trailer opens with a deeply emotional scene where a mother, played by actress Richa Sharma, asks her son to pledge to protect the nation and its dignity. She demands a promise: “You will annihilate the evil forces who dare to taint the soil and identity of our country.”
This emotional note transitions to the long-awaited entry of actor Samir Bhatt. In a commanding tone, he declares: “I will sacrifice every drop of my blood. Say what you will to me, I will listen. But if you ever speak of my mother, I will cut you down.” His intense dialogue is followed by fierce action sequences that display his raw energy and strength, leaving a lasting impact on viewers.
The trailer also features Arpan Thapa, Saugat Malla, and Mahendra Budhathoki in striking new avatars. Malla delivers a chilling line about being forced into becoming a demon, while the confrontation scenes between Samir and Saugat stand out as highlights. At times, Bhatt is shown fighting dozens of villains singlehandedly, amplifying the adrenaline. The cinematography, dialogue delivery, and background score elevate the trailer to its peak intensity.
The previously released teaser had already captured attention with Saugat Malla’s fiery torch-bearing scene, Hemant Budhathoki’s impactful dialogue, and Richa Sharma’s emotional appeal. Director Santosh Sen also made a surprise appearance in the teaser, portraying an indigenous character, which added intrigue.
With the release of its trailer, Balidan is now being regarded not only as one of the most awaited Nepali films of the year but also as a production with international-level anticipation. Director Sen has emphasized that Balidan is not merely a film but a symbol of rebellion residing in the hearts of every Nepali.
Meanwhile, the film’s title track “Yo Jyan Balidan” has already become popular among audiences. Sung and composed by Sujan Chapagai with lyrics by Hark Saud, the song has struck a chord with the masses.
Produced under the banner of Asusen Films Pvt. Ltd., the film stars Samir Bhatt, Saugat Malla, Arpan Thapa, Richa Sharma, Kavita Rai, Hemant Budhathoki, and Prem Puri, among others. It is produced by Pawan Bradford Bista with Prem Puri as the executive producer.
Scheduled for release on Phulpati day (October 29) during the grand Dashain festival, Balidan is expected to be remembered as a bold milestone in the history of Nepali cinema.
