The newly built and modern Grand Palace Function Centre was officially inaugurated on Sunday in Parramatta Road Urban, Sydney, amidst a grand celebration.
The highlight of the opening ceremony was a solo performance by veteran music composer Shambhujeet Baskota, which made the event even more captivating and memorable. The centre has been jointly established by Ranjit Shah, Santosh Tiwari, and Shovhit Basnet. According to director and designer Basnet, the facility was created to address the lack of venues in Sydney capable of hosting large-scale cultural and social events.
The function centre features two separate halls with different capacities — the larger hall can accommodate around 400 guests, while the smaller one has space for about 200. As per the organizers’ plan, artists from Nepal will be invited every month to perform in cultural and entertainment programs.
It is noteworthy that the film P.R. (Permanent Resident), jointly produced by Ranjit Shah, Santosh Tiwari, and directed by Shovhit Basnet, is currently being successfully screened across Australia, with preparations underway for its nationwide release in Nepal.
