Film Lajjawati Launched with Auspicious Ceremony at Pashupatinath Temple

The upcoming film Lajjawati, directed by Raj Bahadur Sane, was officially launched on Monday with a Shubha Muhurat ceremony at the premises of Pashupatinath Temple.

The event coincided with Ghatasthapana, marking the first day of the Dashain festival. Filming commenced immediately following the ceremony.

The inaugural shot was directed by writer Pradeep Bhardwaj. Lead actors Mukun Bhusal, Shreekrishna Niraula, Menuka Maji, and Januka Bishwakarma gave the first muhurat shot, after which Sitamol producer Vikas Raj Joshi performed the traditional coconut-breaking ritual. The shooting began at Pashupati Aryaghat, with a 30-day schedule planned, according to director Sane.

Produced under the banner of Aaha Films, the project features Saurabh Wali as presenter, Kamal Prasad Sharma and Sandeep Rokaya as producers, Deepak Bhandari as executive producer, and Bhimraj Rokaya as co-producer.

Cinematography will be handled by Divya Raj Subedi, supported by assistant cinematographer Prabin Subedi. Vishal Baral serves as chief assistant director, while Ravi KC is the makeup artist.

The film, which will primarily be shot around Kathmandu, stars Mukun Bhusal, Shreekrishna Niraula, Menuka Maji, and Januka Bishwakarma in lead roles, alongside Mao Tse Gurung, Sushil Pokharel, Hiunwala Gautam, Sapana Shrestha, Priya Rizal, Binod Shrestha, Keshav Rizal, and Ramhari Khadka.

The production team has confirmed that the film’s release date will be announced only after the completion of the full post-production process.
