The teaser of the upcoming film Maijharo, set to release on Kartik 7, was unveiled on Monday, coinciding with the occasion of Ghatasthapana during Dashain. The teaser runs for 1 minute and 58 seconds.
The teaser showcases a love triangle between the lead actors Dhiraj Magar, Miruna Magar, and Diya Pun. Set against the scenic rural backdrop of Ilam, Dhiraj is featured alongside Miruna, who is seen carrying a basket of tea leaves in the plantation, hinting at her daily work. While Dhiraj and Miruna share romantic moments, circumstances bring Dhiraj closer to Diya Pun, adding emotional complexity to the storyline.
Although many audiences expected director Wilson Vikram Rai, popularly known as Takme Budha, to make a comedy, the teaser confirms that Maijharo is a heartfelt, original love story rooted in Kirati culture. The emotional depth and cultural authenticity portrayed in the teaser indicate Rai’s skill in telling stories grounded in Nepali soil.
The film, based on a love triangle, is written and directed by Wilson Vikram Rai. Alongside Dhiraj, Miruna, and Diya, the ensemble cast includes Dayahang Rai, Buddhi Tamang, Sunil Thapa, Pushkar Gurung, Abhiyaraj Baral, Mautse Gurung, Kavita Ale, Rajani Gurung, Prem Subba, Uday Subba, Anil Subba, Bhupendra Lingden, and Vishal Limbu.
Produced under the banner of Takme Production, the film features music by Anmol Gurung and Torempahang Rai, with vocals by Rajesh Payal Rai, Jhuma Limbu, Melina Rai, and Asmita Adhikari. Cinematography is by Saurabh Lama. Maijharo will be distributed by RR Films, with digital rights held by OSR.
