Santosh Sen, the director and producer of one of the most anticipated Nepali films, Balidan, has expressed his unwavering confidence in the project. He describes the film not merely as a source of entertainment but as an expression of patriotism and devotion toward one’s mother.

“Bringing such a subject to the screen was not easy. After years of patience and relentless effort, the film is finally ready for release. Its core essence lies in love, compassion, and duty toward both the nation and one’s mother,” Sen explained. “The performances of the cast are crucial to its success. The story and visuals will resonate with the audience’s emotions toward their country and mother, while also conveying how political deception manipulates and exploits ordinary people.”

Highlighting the film’s high production value, Sen added, “We are born from our mother’s womb and nurtured in the embrace of our motherland. These two are the foundations of our lives, and the film embodies this truth. Viewers will not only be entertained but will also experience a sense of patriotic fervor that stirs the soul.”

The trailer of Balidan, released last Friday, has generated widespread discussion within the Nepali film industry. Earlier, the poster, pre-teaser, teaser, and songs had already heightened anticipation, and the trailer has now raised expectations even further. One poignant scene shows a mother urging her son to safeguard the nation and its dignity. Following this, the long-awaited entry of actor Sameer Bhatt showcases powerful dialogues rooted in patriotism and maternal devotion. Saugat Malla, Arpan Thapa, and Mahendra Budhathoki appear in striking new avatars. The conflict between Sameer and Saugat, high-octane action sequences, battles against dozens of villains, impactful dialogues, and an intense background score elevate the trailer to new heights.

The title song “Yo Jyan Balidan”, sung and composed by Sujan Chapagain with lyrics by Hark Saud, has already become a sensation among audiences, further igniting patriotic sentiment.

Produced under the banner of Aashusen Films Pvt. Ltd., the film stars Sameer Bhatt, Saugat Malla, Arpan Thapa, Richa Sharma, Kavita Rai, Hemant Budhathoki, and Prem Puri, among others. The producers are Pawan Bradford Bisht, with Prem Puri serving as executive producer.

Scheduled for release on Ashoj 13 (Phulpati Day), Balidan is expected to be remembered as a bold milestone in Nepali cinema history. According to Sen, the film is more than just a cinematic work — it stands as a symbol of rebellion in the hearts of every Nepali.
