The family drama film “Harsha”, set to release on Mangsir 12, has unveiled its new song. Directed by debut filmmaker Ekta Paudel, the film released its first track “Shitti Mar.”
Composed by Alish Karki, the song features the duet vocals of Pratap Das and Sadiksha Kattel. Written by Pavitra Ghimire, the choreography is done by Sunil Chhetri.
Shot by Alok Shukla, the music video features most of the cast members. Created in the festive setting of a family gathering, the video showcases Barsha Raut, Khagendra Lamichhane, Santosh Pant, Bishal Pahari, Sharmila Malla, Anshu Maharjan, Sunil Chhetri, Mao Tse Gurung, and Lunibha Tuladhar.
The song is expected to become a dance favorite for Nepali audiences during various celebrations and gatherings. After a long time, such an energetic track has arrived in Nepali cinema, where everyone — parents, uncles, aunts, brothers, sisters, and cousins — can dance together. The video effectively uses all the artists, creating a lively fusion dance atmosphere.
The producers believe this track will become a popular song for every Nepali celebration. “Harsha” is produced by Prasanna Paudel and Bikash Paudel, with Hikmat Chokhal as the executive producer.
The film features Khagendra Lamichhane, Barsha Raut, Santosh Pant, Sharmila Pant, Mao Tse Gurung, Bishal Pahari, Nima Pandey, Lunibha Tuladhar, Anshu Maharjan, Renu Pradhan, Suvarna Thapa, Srishti Maharjan, Srijana Napit, and child actor Simon Wadi.
Made under the banner of Astalaxmi Productions and E-Prime Movies, the story is penned by director Paudel herself. Being the niece of the late director Shiva Regmi, Paudel is expected to carry forward his legacy through this film.
Director Paudel studied film-making at the New York Film Academy, holds a bachelor’s degree in mass communication, and a master’s degree in management and leadership. She has also made several short films in the past. Shot entirely in Chitwan, the film is currently in the post-production phase. Paudel has expressed confidence that she and her team will deliver an excellent experience to the audience.
“Harsha” features music by Samir and Himal, Basanta Sapkota, and Alish Karki; editing by Lokesh Bajracharya; choreography by Sunil Chhetri and director Paudel; lyrics by the late Shiva Regmi, Dr. Krishnahari Baral, Pavitra Ghimire, and Neer Kamal Khadka; production management by Ishwar Ghimire; and Kuldeep Sharma as the chief assistant director.
The film will be distributed by Govinda Shahi’s Kafiya Films, while its digital rights have been acquired by Budha Subba Digital.
