Actor Dhiraj Magar is excited about his upcoming festive release Maitighar. His enthusiasm is heightened as this marks his first experience working in a multistarrer film. He had received the script two years ago, and after reading it, he immediately agreed to be part of the project.
He shared, “The way the story is set around Tamang culture truly fascinated me. What drew me in even more was how the film portrays the bond between a daughter and her maternal home.”
Speaking about his role, Dhiraj revealed that audiences will see him in a “grey shade.” He explained that even the trailer hints at the complexity of his character:
“My role is not entirely negative but falls into the grey spectrum. What I truly liked is the journey of the character itself. The trailer already shows me in different getups — at times in a police uniform, at other times as a migrant worker. This has created both curiosity and confusion among the audience, which I find intriguing.”
He credited director Milan Tamang for shaping the character’s presentation.
Confident about the film’s impact, Dhiraj assured that Maitighar will deliver wholesome entertainment. He believes the climax will leave a lasting impression on the audience.
“I am certain viewers will laugh and eventually be moved to tears while watching the film. Being a family drama, it promises to be the perfect festive entertainment for Nepali audiences this Dashain. The trailer has already made it clear that the film offers full entertainment. Secondly, it makes you laugh while also moving you emotionally. And thirdly, it is a complete family film,” he emphasized.
