
The shooting of the new Nepali film Kakakiki has officially begun. The production team commenced filming on Thursday morning with a special ceremony, starting from Bhukdeurali, Parbat, with a 35-day shooting schedule. According to director Bikki Agrawal, around 20 days of filming will take place in the rural settings of Parbat, followed by the remaining schedule in Kathmandu.
Most of the film’s cast members have already joined the shoot. Actresses Tripti Nadkar, Rekha Thapa, Diya Maskey, and actors Subhash Gajurel, Mahesh Tripathi, and Subarna Thapa are currently on set. Actress Gauri Malla is expected to join the team in a few days, co-director Shraddha Prasai confirmed. She added that the film’s shooting officially began today, and a few more cast members will join the production later.
Kakakiki is being produced by the team behind the popular comedy show Comedy Darbar. The show’s directors Bikki Agrawal and Shraddha Prasai are co-directing the film, while the story has been written by Bikki, Bikash Aryal, and Saroj Bhandari. The screenplay is also penned by Bikki, with Bishwas Timilsina serving as the script doctor. Anish Budhathoki is the assistant director, and Sudeep Baral is handling cinematography.
Earlier in the second week of Saun, the production team released an official poster to announce the project. The poster featured Rekha Thapa, Gauri Malla, Tripti Nadkar, and Mahesh Tripathi in intriguing looks, hinting at a mysterious storyline.
The film’s digital rights have been acquired by OSR Digital, while the international rights are held by Seven Seas International.
