The film Paran, slated for release on Kartik 14, has officially unveiled its poetic teaser. The teaser was launched on the occasion of veteran actor Nir Shah‘s birthday and features the words of poet Navaraj Parajuli, narrated in his own voice.

Through Parajuli’s poetic expressions, the emotional depth of the film’s central character, played by Nir Shah, is conveyed. Released via OSR Digital’s YouTube channel, the teaser captures the heartfelt longing of an elderly father wishing to be accompanied by his son until the very end of life.

The poem reflects on the father’s devotion in raising his son, whom he sees as a gift from God, and now hopes that the son will offer the same love and support in his final years.

Poet Parajuli expresses this sentiment through the following lines:

Before it burns, a match never leaves its box.
This is my son, Paran — he never leaves me.
Just because a bird leaves its nest,
Does that make the tree fall?
My son stands by me, always.
He was a divine responsibility, I raised him,
And now, he won’t leave me without fulfilling God’s duty.
This is my son, Paran — he never leaves me.

These lines are voiced by Nir Shah himself in the teaser.

The teaser also features actors Madan Krishna Shrestha, Keki Adhikari, Mahesh Tripathi, Buddhi Tamang, Praveen Khatiwada, Pooja Chand, and Anjana Baraili, among others.

This poetic teaser offers audiences a glimpse into the film’s central theme — the father-son relationship, and how societal roles and life’s challenges shape that bond over time.

From the teaser, Paran promises to be a strong family drama. Directed by Deepak Prasad Acharya (Kaku), famed for his work in Sakkigoni, this marks his directorial debut.

The film stars Nir Shah, Madan Krishna Shrestha, Pooja Chand, Keki Adhikari, Buddhi Tamang, Yaseli Yonghang, Babindra Rai, Pushparaj Ojha, Seema Kafle, Daman Rupakheti, Yaman Shrestha, Subrat Raj Acharya, Suresh Thapa, Binod Rai, and child artist Aryadeep Acharya.

With music by Rhythm Kandel, vocals by Pramod Kharel, Pushpan Pradhan, and Rachana Rimal, cinematography by Shivaram Shrestha, and editing by Mitra D. Gurung, Paran is produced by Bioscope Cinema Pvt. Ltd.

The production company is backed by Nepal’s leading business houses — Golchha Group and Prisma Group — adding to the film’s anticipation and credibility among audiences.
