The song “Phool Bani Phulthē” from the upcoming Nepali film Chirag, which is set for a nationwide release on Mangsir 5 (November 21), has been officially released. The song was unveiled through the Highlights Nepal YouTube channel and features vocals by Deepak Limbu and Asmita Adhikari, with lyrics and music composed by the film’s writer and director Tyagmurti himself.

The romantic song’s video has been produced using full VFX. It features Tyagmurti and Sankala Gautam in lead visuals. Earlier, the film’s poster had shown Tyagmurti in a completely different avatar—as a transgender character. However, in this newly released song, he appears in a male role.

Tyagmurti is also the lead actor in the film. Speaking at a press meet organized on Sunday at Kimchi Restaurant in Anamnagar, Kathmandu, he said,

Chirag presents the transgender community in a way never seen before in Nepali film history. In most films, transgender characters are shown in minor or negative roles. But in Chirag, audiences will see something entirely different.”

The film carries the tagline “The Lamp of Hope Never Dies.”
Along with Tyagmurti, the film stars Sushil Pokhrel, Pragya Joshi, Subash Gajurel, Damodar Bhandari, Sher Bahadur DC, Sankala Gautam, Naresh Prasad Bhatt, Manoj Acharya, Madhava Khanal, Minakshi Khanal, and child actor Sagar Kharel, among others.

The film’s co-writers are Naresh Prasad Bhatt and Sankala Gautam, while the producers are Sankala Gautam, Naresh Prasad Bhatt, and Tyagmurti. Produced under the Harinanda banner, the film features background score by Loknath Sapkota, mixing by Ashish Sunuwar, cinematography by Rahul Rai and Mefuj Ansari, editing by Subash Devkota, color grading by Kalpesh Bishwakarma, VFX by Dinesh Dhakal, and makeup by DK Hamal.
