The production team of the Nepali psychological drama ‘Roll No. 1’ has announced a casting call for child actors.

Presented by Seven Seas Cinema, the team has released an advertisement on social media, seeking talented children aged 7 to 12 for the film.

The film was initially announced last year, along with a first-look poster showing a child sitting on the last bench of a classroom, raising his hand to mark his presence. The poster clearly hinted at the film’s focus on child psychology.

According to the production team, they are looking for three boys aged 7–8, one girl aged 6–7, and two boys aged 11–12.

Child actors should have dark complexions and a height ranging from 2.5 to 3 feet. Interested children can submit a short video clip via email at [email protected] or WhatsApp at 9865119311.

The production team will contact shortlisted candidates for the final audition.

The film’s storyline revolves around the social pressures, false sense of prestige, and the “must-win” mentality often observed among students.

Producer Vinod Paudel had earlier shared on social media:

“If you don’t win, you gain no respect. You don’t even make the count. Everyone else is a fool, except the one scholar — Roll No. 1… Roll No. 1… Roll No. 1.”

This statement reflects the film’s exploration of the pressures imposed on young minds by a competitive society.

The film will be directed and written by Jon Yonjan, with screenplay and dialogues by Mahesh Dawadi, and music composed by Prashant Shivakoti. The production team has not yet revealed the names of the selected actors.

Seven Seas Cinema is also preparing for the release of another film, ‘Abhimanyu: Chapter–1’.
