The trailer for the highly anticipated debut film “Harsha”, directed by Ekta Paudel, has been released. The 2-minute 51-second trailer was unveiled on Tuesday at a special event held in Kathmandu.
The trailer features almost all of the film’s cast and provides a glimpse into the storyline. It showcases the ups and downs a family experiences after the marriage of a son. “Harsha” is among the few recent Nepali films to bring a family-centered narrative back to the forefront, as highlighted by its promotional material.
Set to release on Mangsir 12, Director Paudel said she chose the family genre because the trend of family films has been declining in Nepali cinema. Paudel is the niece of the late renowned director Shiva Regmi.
Paudel holds a degree in Film Making from the New York Film Academy, a Bachelor’s in Mass Communication, and a Master’s in Management and Leadership. She has also previously directed several short films.
The film stars Khagendra, Barsha, and Simon, alongside Neer Shah, Santosh Pant, Sharmila Malla, Maotse Gurung, Vishal Pahadi, Nima Pandey, Luniwa Tuladhar, Anshu Maharjan, Renu Pradhan, Suvarna Thapa, Shrishti Maharjan, and Sirjana Napit.
Cinematography is by Alok Shukla, music by Sameer & Himal, Basant Sapkota, and Elish Karka, editing by Lokesh Bajracharya, and choreography by Sunil Kshetri and Director Paudel herself.
Produced under the banner of Ashtalakshmi Productions and E-Prime Movies, the story is written by Director Paudel. Prashanna Paudel and Bikash Paudel are producers, with Hikmat Chokhal serving as executive producer.
The film’s production manager is Ishwor Ghimire, and Kuldeep Sharma is the main assistant director. “Harsha” will be distributed by Kafiya Films and DCN, with Budhasubba Digital as the digital partner.
