Upendra and Miruna Engage Fans in East; ‘Jaari 2’ Director’s Cut Draws Fresh Hype

The Nepali film ‘Jaari 2: Song of Chyabrung’, which was released last Friday, is performing strongly at the box office. The film has been doing impressive business across the country, particularly showing aggressive collections in theaters across eastern Nepal.

Based on a story from the Limbu community, the film’s success has brought director Upendra Subba and lead actress Miruna Magar to eastern Nepal for audience interactions. The team met viewers in Damak and Birtamod on Monday and is scheduled to visit various theaters in Dharan and Itahari today (Tuesday).

A Director’s Cut version of the film, featuring an additional 14-minute-long scene, has also been released from today. Director Subba said that the warm love and support from audiences in eastern Nepal have given him both encouragement and a greater sense of responsibility to deliver even better films in the future.

Lead actress Miruna Magar shared that the newly released version has added excitement among audiences. “Yesterday we met viewers in Damak and Birtamod, and today we’re meeting audiences in Dharan and Itahari. Since Dharan is my hometown, I’m even more thrilled to meet the viewers there,” she said.

‘Jaari 2’ is written and directed by Upendra Subba and produced by Rambabu Gurung, Madhu Mizar, and Jeevan Gurung. The film stars Dayahang Rai, Miruna Magar, and Vijay Baral in the lead roles.

Produced under the banners of Bansuri Films and Kabaddi Films, ‘Jaari 2’ has been listed among the most commercially successful Nepali films of the year. The film also features Buddhi Tamang, Richa Sharma, Pushkar Gurung, Prem Subba, Mao Tse Gurung, Manhang Lawati, Bishnu Moktan, Kamalmani Nepal, Anil Subba, Rekha Limbu, Bedana Rai, and Sirjana Ninglekhu in supporting roles.
