Sizel and Sister Foundation recently extended its support to families affected by the floods and landslides earlier this year. On Saturday, the foundation distributed blankets to families in Balephi, Bhotekoshi, Jugal, and Sunkoshi rural municipalities to help them cope with the cold. Additionally, families who lost their loved ones received NPR 10,000 each, while economically vulnerable families were provided with financial assistance.

The relief distribution program was attended by Sizel and Sister Foundation advisor and journalist Rajendra Luitel, lyricist Geeta Adhikari, singer Pushkar Sunar, actress and singer Sarika Ghimire, actor Shridev Bhattarai, weightlifting champion Jeevan Giri, director Kuber Tamang, cameraman Navin Sunuwar, and the foundation’s secretary, Dilliram Sigdel, among others.

Similarly, under the leadership of coordinator Rajan Bhandari, the foundation distributed over 300 buckets, water filters, and other supplies to impoverished and flood-affected families in Panauti-12. This distribution was carried out in collaboration with the Community Innovation Organization and other partners.

Foundation President Sanjit Bhandari expressed his gratitude for the collaborative efforts between different organizations, emphasizing their role in making social welfare initiatives more impactful. Program coordinator Sadiksha Subedi highlighted the program’s effectiveness and how it was tailored to meet the needs of the target groups.

The foundation’s founder, Megh Suvedi, had earlier provided over 250 blankets, NPR 10,000 to the families of the deceased, and NPR 50,000 to those whose homes were completely destroyed in Roshi Rural Municipality.

The foundation has been actively assisting disadvantaged communities and disaster victims across Nepal. Past efforts include immediate relief for Melamchi flood victims, financial assistance for Jajarkot earthquake victims, and food distribution to Bhutanese refugee camps.

Sizel and Sister Foundation is also active in the United States, led by Megh Suvedi alongside Pancham Tamang, Yogesh Nepal, and Sukbir Tamang. The foundation aims to implement larger social welfare projects in the near future.
