The filming of the romantic Nepali movie “Kumari”, directed by Dinesh Raut, has officially been completed.
The shoot, which began on Bhadra 17, was formally wrapped up on Saturday, according to the production team. Although filming has concluded, the official release date will be announced within a few days, based on the progress of post-production, director Raut confirmed.
“Kumari” made headlines even during its shooting phase.
The song performed live during the announcement event, “Kata Chhau Mero Phool,” went viral on the internet, boosting the film’s popularity.
Singer Kehar Singh Limbu, currently on a nationwide concert tour, has also been performing the song repeatedly due to high audience demand.
The live version by him and his band “Kehar & The Lunga” is trending heavily on TikTok and YouTube. The production team has said that the studio version of the song will only be released after the film’s premiere.
The film marks the debut of Avishek Khadka and Aakriti Rajbhandari in lead roles. Other cast members include Ghanshyam Joshi, Sunita Shrestha, Akanksha Karki, Madhu Khadka, Sanam Shrestha, Saku Shah, Saroj Lamichhane, Manisha Sharma, and Bhupi Luhar.
The cinematography is directed by Susan Prajapati. The film is produced by Binish Entertainment in collaboration with Picture Frame, with Mahendra Adhikari serving as producer.
The script is written by Vikas Subedi, while the poster and publicity design are handled by Royal Bhimsen (Trident Concept).
“Kumari” features four songs, all sung by Kehar Singh Limbu. The music is composed jointly by Kehar Singh Limbu, Suman Tamang, and Prashant Sibakoti, with lyrics by Sagar Lamichhane Magar, Suman Tamang, and Yuvraj Kafle.
According to the production team, the film is targeted for release within this year. With filming complete, the team will now fully focus on post-production work.
