The umbrella organization of Nepali film producers, Nepal Film Producers Association, has elected a new leadership team.
In the election held on Monday in Kathmandu, Uday Subba was elected as the new president. Out of the 280 votes cast, Subba secured 153 votes, defeating his opponent Sunil Kumar Thapa by a margin of 27 votes.
In the race for General Secretary, actor and Pashupati Prasad producer Khagendra Lamichhane emerged victorious with 152 votes, while his competitor Kiran Nepal received 125 votes.
Similarly, Yubaraj Giri was elected Secretary, obtaining 159 votes against Kisan Pokharel, who secured 112 votes.
For the vice-presidential posts, Dimaag Kharab producer Raunak Bikram Kandel and Jyotiraj Rai were elected unopposed.
Likewise, December Falls producer Ram Prasad Rijal was elected Treasurer unopposed.
A total of seven members were elected unopposed: Chumban Jung Shahi, Tank Bahadur Budhathoki, Sridhar Paudel, Manoj Kumar Adhikari, Praveen Karki, Ghanendra Thapaliya, and Raj Kumar Pandit. Out of nine available member positions, only seven candidates had filed nominations.
