Renowned Nepali filmmaker Saroj Paudel, known for the blockbuster Purna Bahadur ko Sarangi, has announced his new project titled Sindure Jatra. The announcement was made through a 26-second title teaser revealing only the film’s name accompanied by a chant-like sound, the meaning of which remains unclear.
Paudel will also write the story for the film. However, he has not confirmed whether the narrative is based on the historic Sindure Jatra festival celebrated in Nuwakot or an entirely different storyline.
Produced under the Sarangi Films banner, the movie is backed by Prabhakar Shrestha. The cast will be announced at a later date, Paudel said.
The film will be distributed by RR Films, with OSR Digital serving as the digital partner. The release date has not yet been disclosed.
Paudel’s previous film Koshedhunga, which was released a few months ago, received positive feedback for its social themes, emotional depth, and direction. Although the film faced challenges due to the Gen-Z movement during its theatrical run, it was praised for its execution.
With Sindure Jatra, audiences are eager to see what new creative approach Paudel will bring to the screen.
