Kaji, directed by Laxman Rijal, has officially locked its release date. The production team announced on Wednesday that the film will hit theaters on March 10 (Chaitra 27), targeting the Nepali New Year holiday audience.
The first look poster, presented by Ram Prasad Rijal, features lead actor Bipin Karki in a youthful and polished appearance with neatly styled hair, trimmed beard, and a crisp shirt. The poster shows him in a contemplative expression, adding intrigue to his character.
Actress Keki Adhikari also appears in the poster. The visual, where Bipin seems to hold her close to his heart, along with nostalgic imagery of shared moments, suggests that Kaji is a family-oriented love story.
The film stars Garima Sharma, Prakash Ghimire, Hemanta Budhathoki, Bishal Pahari, Binod Neupane, Rashmi Bhatt, Hiuwala Gautam, Sandip Babu Lohani, Roji Shrestha, Ganga Sharma, Nawaraj Giri, Buddhi Sagar Khanal, Prashansa Subedi, Kritika Sharma, and child actor Dikshita Aryal, among others.
Director Rijal is making a return to filmmaking after eight years, stating that he decided to come back after finding the script he had been looking for. His past directorial works include Kasam, Dhuwa Yo Nasha, Alvida, and Kaira, while he has produced December Falls and Ganapati.
Produced under the Rijal & Rijal Production banner, the film is backed by producer Ram Prasad Rijal. The screenplay is written by Pradeep Bhardwaj, with cinematography by Chintan Rajbhandari and music by Kaliprasad Baskota.
