The promotional campaign for the Nepali film PR, set for nationwide release on December 11 (Mangsir 26), has intensified as director Shovhit Basnet returned to Nepal from Australia with the film’s lead actors, R.A. Suraj Paudel and debut actress Vinita Karki.
Basnet, who travelled to Australia a week earlier to coordinate the film’s overseas release schedule, said he brought the actors back to Nepal to strengthen the promotional activities.
“Actors play a crucial role in reaching audiences. Now that they’re here, we will push the promotion even more,” Basnet told reporters at Tribhuvan International Airport on Sunday evening.
Lead actor Suraj Paudel said he flew to Nepal specifically for the film’s publicity. “We heard the film team was looking for us even in Australia. That search ultimately brought us back to Nepal,” he remarked.
Debut actress Vinita Karki expressed excitement about the upcoming release. “The special show in Australia received overwhelming love. I’m confident Nepali audiences will feel the same,” she said.
The film’s team will begin more extensive promotional events starting Monday.
Meanwhile, the song Tata Bye Bye from the film has been trending and helping build hype ahead of release.
PR features Suraj Paudel and Vinita Karki alongside veteran actors Nir Shah, Gauri Malla, Rajan Kunwar, Pooja Chaudhary, Ashma Adhikari, Mastani, Bimala Khatri, Ganesh Budhathoki, Max Babu, Krishna Thapa and Naveen Ghayal. Ravindra Khadka, Uttam KC and Dikpal Karki appear in special roles.
Presented by Ranjit Shah and Santosh Tiwari, the film is produced by Laxman Sapkota and Pradeep Dahal. The script is by Ganesh Budhathoki, editing by Bande Prasad and cinematography by Saurav Sayami and Saurav Lama. Distribution is handled by RR Films.
The project marks director Basnet’s comeback after a decade. The film’s overseas rights are selling rapidly, with Japan-based Yuna Digital recently acquiring its distribution rights.
