‘Abhimanyu: Chapter 1’ Hits Theatres Today

The Nepali film ‘Abhimanyu: Chapter 1’ has officially released across the country from Thursday, timed with the Udhauli festival holiday.

Starring Kameshwar Chaurasiya and Laxmi Bardewa in lead roles, the film has secured a satisfactory number of shows in major multiplexes nationwide, according to the production team.

During Monday’s premiere show, filmmakers, actors and journalists praised the film’s content, making, presentation, and performances. Encouraged by the positive early reviews, the cast and crew are confident that general audiences will also embrace the film.

“We screened the film for some filmmakers, actors and journalists, and they appreciated it wholeheartedly,” lead actor Kameshwar Chaurasiya said. “So we are confident that audiences will like it as well. We will take their feedback as suggestions for improvement.”

Directed by Sushant Gautam, the film has Madan Thapa as the creative director and Mukesh Khanal as the writer. Alongside the lead cast, Kiran Shrestha, Gaumaya Gurung, Laxmi Giri, Prakash Dahal, and Shishir Bangdel appear in supporting roles, with Rekha Thapa making a guest appearance.

The film is produced by Binod Paudel and Gunjan Giri, with Ramesh Chaulagain and Hari Shrestha serving as co-producers. The executive producers include Bishal Lama, Hari Moktan, Krishna Bhattarai, Nirajan Luintel, and Sandesh Shrestha. Jeevan Shakya is the line producer.

Shot by DOP Sharad Mahato, Abhimanyu also features VFX by Manoj Shrestha, color grading by Junim Gahtoraj, and editing by Madan Ghimire. The film has been released simultaneously in Nepali and Hindi across Nepal and worldwide.
