Third National Indigenous Music and Film Awards 2082 Concludes in Kathmandu

Kathmandu — The Third National Indigenous Music and Film Awards 2082, organized to preserve and promote the language, art, culture, music, and films of Nepal’s Indigenous and Janajati communities, was successfully concluded in Kathmandu. The grand event was held on Poush 10 at the main hall of the Film Development Board in Chabahil, with the board’s collaboration.

During the ceremony, artists, creators, and film professionals from Indigenous communities active both in Nepal and abroad were honored with awards and recognitions across 34 categories.

The program was graced by Dinesh DC, Chairman of the Film Development Board, as the chief guest, while Kavita Ale, Dhiren Shakya, and Rajendra Khadki attended as special guests.

Organized by Quality Films, the award ceremony was coordinated by Umesh Gurung and Sunny Limbu. On the occasion, senior journalist Anil Gurung and veteran singer and music composer Krishna Gurung were presented with special honors.

The organizers stated that the event aimed to highlight the cultural identity of Indigenous communities at the national level and inspire the younger generation, expressing heartfelt gratitude to all supporters who contributed to the program’s success.
