Kathmandu, Dec 29 —
The awakening song ‘Aau Yasto Desh Banaun’ from the upcoming Nepali film Bigul was officially released on Sunday. The song features lyrics and music by Nepali Congress General Secretary Bishwaprakash Sharma and is sung by renowned vocalist Rajesh Payal Rai. All major cast members appear in the song.
Directed by Ramesh Koirala and produced by Dinesh Koirala, Bigul is set for a nationwide theatrical release on January 23 (Magh 9). Released through OSR Digital, the song delivers messages of patriotism, inclusivity, peace, and public awareness, according to the production team.
The music video depicts artists carrying the national flag and engaging in door-to-door awareness campaigns, promoting good governance, development, and peace. With its release coinciding with the run-up to national elections, the song reflects the prevailing political and social atmosphere.
Presented by Kalpana Paudel, the film has already garnered attention through its first-look poster, teaser, and duet song. The producers claim the song powerfully amplifies the voice of ordinary citizens.
Director Ramesh Koirala stated that Bigul portrays the story of marginalized people while envisioning a prosperous Nepal. Though rooted in contemporary political themes, he emphasized that the film has been crafted with a fully commercial approach, blending social awareness with strong entertainment value.
The film features performances by Benisha Hamal, Naren Khadka, Ramesh Budhathoki, Neer Shah, Saroj Khanal, Hemant Budhathoki, Shishir Wangdel, Binod Neupane, JN Ghimire, Gita Adhikari, Meera Pandit, and Mansingh Sharma, among others.
Produced under the Magnolia Group banner, the film is co-produced by Mahesh Koirala and Suryakant Koirala. The screenplay and dialogues are written by Pradeep Bhardwaj and Maunata Shrestha. Cinematography is by Shiva Dhakal, choreography by Kamal Rai and Kabiraj Gahatraj, action direction by NV Maharjan, and music by Bishwaprakash Sharma, Arjun Pokharel, and Manoj Chaulagain. Editing is handled by Tara Thapa ‘Kimbhe’.
Bigul will be distributed by Kafia Films in Kathmandu Valley and Shri Byankatesh Entertainment outside the capital.
